Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 9 August 2026

The short version: Spain Amigo helps you understand Spanish administrative letters. It’s a tool for clarity, not a substitute for a lawyer, gestor, or tax advisor — and it can make mistakes. Always verify anything with real deadlines or money attached directly with the issuing agency or a qualified professional.

1. The service

Spain Amigo (“the Service”) is operated to help English speakers living in or moving to Spain understand administrative correspondence — letters from tax, social security, immigration, municipal, and other government or financial bodies. You upload a photo or PDF of a letter; the Service uses optical character recognition and AI analysis to explain what it is, what it means, and what action, if any, it suggests you take.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

2. Not professional advice

Spain Amigo is an informational tool. It is not legal, tax, immigration, or financial advice, and using it does not create any kind of professional or advisory relationship. The analysis is generated by AI models and, while designed to be accurate and genuinely useful, may misread, misclassify, or misinterpret a document.

For anything with real consequences — a deadline, a payment, a legal obligation, an immigration status — verify directly with the issuing agency, or consult a qualified abogado, gestor, or accountant. You are responsible for the decisions you make based on information from the Service.

3. Accounts

You sign in using a one-time link sent to your email address — there are no passwords to manage. You’re responsible for keeping access to that email address secure, since it’s how your account is authenticated.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. One account per person; please don’t share login access.

4. Plans & payment

The Service is offered on three tiers:

  • Free — up to 3 letter analyses per calendar month.
  • Pro — unlimited analyses, billed annually, auto-renewing until cancelled.
  • Founding Lifetime — a one-time payment for unlimited analyses for as long as the Service operates, limited to the first 100 buyers.

Payments are processed by Gumroad, a third-party payment processor. Spain Amigo does not directly store your card details. Pro subscription prices may change with notice; changes won’t apply to a period you’ve already paid for.

5. Cancellation & refunds

You can cancel a Pro subscription at any time through your Gumroad account. You’ll keep access until the end of the period you’ve already paid for; we don’t provide partial-period refunds for cancellation.

Refund requests outside of that are handled case by case — contact us and we’ll take a reasonable look. Founding Lifetime purchases are one-time and non-recurring, so there’s no subscription to cancel.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Upload documents you don’t have the right to share (e.g. someone else’s private correspondence without their permission)
  • Use the Service for anything illegal, fraudulent, or intended to deceive an agency or third party
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or resell the Service or its underlying analysis
  • Interfere with the Service’s normal operation (e.g. automated abuse of the upload system)

7. Your content

You retain ownership of the documents you upload. By uploading a letter, you give Spain Amigo permission to process it (OCR, AI analysis, storage) solely to provide the Service back to you. We don’t use your letters to train any AI model, ours or anyone else’s. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail on how your data is handled.

8. AI limitations

The analysis, deadlines, and reply drafts the Service generates are produced by AI models and are provided on a best-effort basis. They can be wrong, incomplete, or based on a misreading of the original document — particularly for handwriting, poor scan quality, or unusual document types. The Service is not a guarantee of accuracy, and you should treat every deadline and figure as something to double-check against the original letter.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Spain Amigo and its operator aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the Service, including missed deadlines, fines, or penalties resulting from inaccurate or incomplete analysis. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that can’t legally be excluded under applicable consumer protection law.

10. Termination

You can delete your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where reasonably possible.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. If a change is significant, we’ll make reasonable efforts to let you know (e.g. by email). Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
